‘Do as Directed’ ના પ્રકારો (Types of Transformations)
બોર્ડની પરીક્ષામાં મુખ્યત્વે નીચે મુજબના ચાર ફેરફારો પૂછાય છે:
- કાળ પરિવર્તન (Change of Tense): આપેલ ફકરાના ક્રિયાપદોને સૂચના મુજબ બીજા કાળમાં ફેરવવા.
- જાતિ પરિવર્તન (Change of Gender): પુલ્લિંગ શબ્દોને સ્ત્રીલિંગમાં કે સ્ત્રીલિંગને પુલ્લિંગમાં ફેરવવા.
- વચન પરિવર્તન (Change of Number): એકવચન વાક્યોને બહુવચનમાં અથવા બહુવચનને એકવચનમાં ફેરવવા.
- કર્તરી-કર્મણી પ્રયોગ (Active to Passive Voice): વાક્યમાં કર્તા અને કર્મના સ્થાન બદલીને ક્રિયાપદમાં ફેરફાર કરવો.

- ગુણભાર અને પદ્ધતિ: બોર્ડની પરીક્ષામાં પ્રશ્ન 51 અને 52 દરેકના 2 ગુણ હોય છે. દરેક સાચા ફેરફાર (સાચું ક્રિયાપદ કે સર્વનામ) દીઠ 0.5 ગુણ મળતા હોય છે.
- સર્વનામની ચોકસાઈ: જ્યારે જાતિ કે વચન બદલો, ત્યારે તેની સાથે જોડાયેલા સર્વનામ (He/She, His/Her, I/We) બદલવાનું ક્યારેય ચૂકશો નહીં.
- ક્રિયાપદ અને સહાયક ક્રિયાપદ: Passive voice માં ફેરવતી વખતે નવા કર્તા (Object) મુજબ am/is/are કે was/were અને ક્રિયાપદનું ભૂતકૃદંત (Past Participle) જ વાપરવું.
- સ્પેલિંગ પર ધ્યાન: જો તમે કાળ સાચો બદલ્યો હોય પણ ક્રિયાપદના સ્પેલિંગમાં ભૂલ કરી હોય, તો માર્ક્સ કપાઈ શકે છે. ‘Writing’ માં ડબલ ‘t’ ન આવે તેનું ધ્યાન રાખવું.
